Somehow, you don’t realise how much headgear is a part of the male Nigerian’s wardrobe; there’s usually one for every traditional outfit, and it’s usually handmade and intricate. We’ve never really given much thought about what these caps mean for men and for each culture, but Nigerian photographer, Lakin Ogunbanwo, brings this to the forefront of our thoughts with his Are We Good Enough exhibition in South Africa.

The exhibition showcased different caps from different Nigerian cultures and depicted the ‘swagger’ young men add to this core part of their cultural dress.
